What is the best way to place my phone for snore detection?
Place your phone on a nightstand about 1 to 2 meters from the snorer with the microphone facing the room. Avoid putting it under a pillow or pressed against a wall, which can block the mic and reduce detection accuracy.
What Android version do I need?
SnoreGuard AI requires Android 8.0 (Oreo) or higher. It works on phones and tablets.
Does SnoreGuard AI work offline?
Yes. Snore detection and masking run fully on-device. Internet is mainly needed for app updates and Google Play subscription checks, not for listening to your bedroom.

How accurate is the snore detection?
Detection uses a spectral snore fingerprint with cosine-similarity scoring. Accuracy usually improves after the first calibration night as the app adapts to the snore pattern in your bedroom.
Will it be triggered by TV, talking, or traffic?
A zero-crossing gate filters out most speech and many non-snore sounds. Loud, rhythmic snoring is what triggers detection. Occasional false positives can happen in the first night or two.
Does SnoreGuard AI work if I am the one snoring?
Yes. You can monitor your own snoring by placing the phone near you, or monitor a partner from the other side of the bed. The person wearing headphones is the one protected by the masking audio.
Headphones and Bluetooth
Does SnoreGuard AI work with Bluetooth headphones?
Yes. Connect Bluetooth headphones before starting Guard, then enable Headphone Mode in Settings for the phase-cancellation path. Wired headphones are also supported.
Why does Android ask to find or connect to nearby devices?
On Android 12+, Bluetooth access is labeled Nearby devices. SnoreGuard AI uses this only for headphone connectivity and audio routing. It does not track people or scan unrelated devices. If you use wired earphones only, you can deny Bluetooth permission.
What is phase-cancellation mode?
Phase-cancellation inverts the snore-frequency band and plays it to your earphones when a snore is detected. That can reduce how loud the snore sounds at your ears. It works best with a good ear tip seal.
Privacy and battery
Does a snore detection app record my bedroom audio?

How much battery does overnight snore detection use?
On a typical phone, an 8-hour session often uses about 10 to 20 percent battery. For best results, allow unrestricted battery use for SnoreGuard AI and keep the screen off overnight.
How do I delete all my data?
Go to Android Settings -> Apps -> SnoreGuard AI -> Storage -> Clear Data. Uninstalling the app also removes local sleep logs.
